Talk and Walk - sample some Venison
Tullynessle Deer Farm
Meet our stags, turned out with 60 breeding hinds with calves at foot as the ‘Rut’ (breeding season) begins. Walk down to the Yearlings field and see last year’s young stock – in their prime including a very rare white Red Deer. Learn about and handle Stag Antlers – objects of wonder and the fasted growing mammalian tissue on earth. Venison is Scotland’s only truly native meat – metabolism slows in tune with winter grass growth We are surrounded by Whitehaugh Forest with stunning Aberdeenshire views. There is the opportunity for those who wish to add a forest walk for anything from 35 mins to 3 hours. Visits varied depending on interest and age of group. Find out more about handling and managing the herd wellies/stout boots required.
